THE LOCATION

Welcome to Dahanu, India

THE BIRTH PLACE OF
SIX BROTHERS MAHURA

Flanked by the Arabian Sea on the West and the Sahyadri Mountain Range on the
East lies Dahanu, the birthplace of a lost heritage tradition, according to local folklore.

Six Brothers Mahura/Mahua

The art of fermenting and distilling Mahura flower spirit is a timeless tradition,
passed down through four generations, over a century.

The collection and distillation of Mahura Spirit was banned under various acts and
restrictions during the colonial era.

Thus, the art was almost lost to antiquity.

Distinct in its singular taste,
Mahura is crafted from the Mahura flowers also known as Mahua,
Mahuva, Mahuda, Moha, Mhowra, etc.

The Mahura tree is indigenous to India and
is widely revered as the Wishing Tree.

It is celebrated for its association with prosperity,
believed to grant desires and wishes, and holds deep cultural significance,
symbolising abundance, longevity and good fortune, since time immemorial.

This exceptional and versatile spirit, renowned for its unique taste,
is a symbol of India’s distilling history, heritage and an undying, triumphant spirit.

Mahua Drink

Its resurrection marks not only a tribute to the enduring art of craftsmanship
but also a revival of a lost heritage, meticulously preserved and brought back to life
after over a century of its disappearance.

Every bottle of Six Brothers Mahura Spirit narrates a story of history and craftsmanship.
Each sip honours India's rich heritage and natures boundless beauty.
